St Anne's Catholic Primary School

"Love one another as I have loved you in our home, school and Parish family"

Let us thank all those who teach in Catholic schools. Educating is an act of love; it is like giving life. (Pope Francis)

The GIFT Team is made up of class members from years 5 -6, who all apply in writing for the role.  The children apply for their roles each year.

Aims:

  • To help the school to grow as a community of faith.
  • To encourage the pupils to live their faith in daily living.
  • To support Liturgy, prayer and the spiritual life of the school.
  • To involve pupils in fundraising for charities.
  • To continue to develop strong links with the Parish.
  • To support the school in its Mission Statement

Duties include:

  • Helping to plan and lead assemblies and Masses
  • Organising and leading class prayer times with other pupils
  • Lead lunchtime prayer opportunities throughout the year e.g. Rosary, Prayer Garden, Stations of the Cross
  • Ensuring that Class prayer areas are tidy and reflect the season.
  • Organising fund raising for charity
  • Supporting younger children with their spiritual development

Our GIFT team have started the new school year by looking for physical signs outside and inside our school building to show that we are a Catholic School.

Our GIFT team visited Coventry Cathedral in Jan 2024 with our shared Parish school - they had a whole day thinking about Peace. Both schools had made Peace chains which were laid in the Cathedral the day before.

Members of the GIFT team and other children from our choir sang in care homes and outside Waitrose in December 2023 to raise money for gifts for our local Parish.

Delivering the food we collected as part of our harvest appeal 2023 to the local foodbank.

Our GIFT team organised a Macmillan Coffee afternoon on Thursday 26th October 2023. It was incredibly well attended and raised £1200.

In September 2023 our GIFT team attended a workshop with Sister Judith. It was a great opportunity to learn the importance of the role and also to write their action plan for the year ahead. We can't wait for you to see the different ideas the team have planned.
